My photographic work in eastern Washington has concentrated on showing the ordinary in interesting ways – “beauty” where it is easily overlooked or to illustrate stories. I introduced my 4 Corners work some time ago (Neighborhoods August 18th). Here is a different version of that concept. Although there is much to see in this country, much of the region is nearly featureless. There is also “beauty” in that. When the sky does not offer visual impact we are forced to really look at the landscape. I ventured into a wheat field near Salem cemetery, set up the tripod and took four pictures from that one location, roughly north, south, east and west.
North, South, East, West
Sometimes we forget the beauty in the ordinary. Thank you for the reminder
Thank you!
